2 October 2025 – On 30 September 2025, the Óbidos Reading Park was officially inaugurated — marking a new milestone for the European project REEPLAI and bringing the initiative towards its final steps after the successful opening in Lviv earlier this year.

Part of the project’s deliverables, the new park transforms reading into play, exploration and collective experience. The very first visitors — students from the 4th year of Complexo dos Arcos— explored the space on Monday morning, testing the interactive activities, mini-libraries from the Little Free Library network, and dedicated areas for reading, games and shared discovery.

Inspired by the Reading Park of Morgex (Italy) and created within the framework of the European project REEPLAI, the park offers a dynamic programme: every six months, a new book will be explored, inviting schools, families and readers of all ages to return and embark on new literary adventures.

A place where reading becomes play and imagination knows no limits, the Óbidos Reading Park stands as a testament to how culture and community engagement can create sustainable, playful spaces for all generations.
