Context
Launched in November 2023, REEPLAI brings together the Fondazione Natalino Sapegno with two UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature – Lviv (Ukraine) and Óbidos (Portugal) – and the Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture (Italy).
Over two years of international cooperation, the project has enabled the dissemination across Europe of the Parco della Lettura di Morgex, a unique cultural space designed to promote reading and literature among children and families through a playful and engaging approach.
The cooperation with the Lviv Municipal Library and the Ukrainian Association of Culturologists has also highlighted the importance of cultural initiatives for communities affected by war – reconnecting with literary and linguistic heritage, while fostering dialogue with other European realities as a path to resilience and reconstruction.
Forum
Current trends in reading habits among children and adolescents in Europe – Paola Borrione (Fondazione Santagata)
“Let us search together for the words to think”: reading, play, research and cooperation – Giulia Radin (Centro Studi Storico Letterari Natalino Sapegno)
Books Under the Missiles: cooperation between libraries in Lviv and frontline territories in Ukraine – Kateryna Aleksieienko (Lviv Municipal Library)
This round table will provide a forum to share innovative practices that place reading at the service of inclusion, cooperation, community resilience, and the promotion of a culture of peace.
